About The Comic Book Shop

Have cool stuff you think belongs in our shop? We’re always looking for new collectibles to keep our store inventory fresh. Give a call to discuss what you have and to set up a time to bring in your collection. We offer free appraisal and, if applicable, payment in cash or store credit.

Although we are Always Buying, we do not simply buy everything that comes in the shop. We need to be able to re-sell what we buy from you for a profit. Remember that you are not selling to the direct market, so the price we offer will be lower than if you sold directly to a collector.

WHAT DO WE BUY?

Generally, collections must be in good, saleable condition.
Very old collections of books may certainly have a musty odor, but newer items like toys should be respectably clean and funk-free. Books that have water damage have usually lost most of their value, unless the book is extremely rare.

We are most interested in books from the mid-70s and prior. For these books we evaluate using our own experience and trusted industry references like Overstreet Grading and Price Guides, and historical eBay sales. However, just because it’s printed in Overstreet doesn’t guarantee the book will resell for that much. We do our best to provide an accurate judgment of the value of the books and always offer a fair price.

What about books from later years?
Books printed in the late 70s and on had much higher print runs, were made from better quality materials, and were collected more prolifically than books in earlier years. As supply goes up, demand goes down. Because we get so many of these collections, what we can offer depends on if the books you have are books we need.

I have some old toys….
Like books, toys are subject to various pressings, so just because it’s old doesn’t make it valuable. But it could. We carry a wide variety of toys and other collectibles, so we are always happy to check out what you’ve got.

Feel free to call ahead to discuss your collection. We can usually let you know over the phone if it is something we could use for the shop.

Please call to schedule a time to bring in your collection.
