The Comic Book Shop has been in
Wilmington, Delaware since it opened in 1991. Since that time, the store has
gone through quite a few changes. We have expanded to maximize our selling space
by knocking down walls and raising the ceiling. We have added new departments
and increased the inventory of the existing departments. We carry all types of
comics, from Golden Age to new this week. We also carry a wide variety of toys,
statues, Trade Paperbacks, and anything else that you might expect to find in a
great comics and collectibles store. Even if it is not listed on the web site,
we might have it in stock in the store.
The cast of characters:
Joe is the owner of The Comic Book Shop. With a long history of
collecting comics, his current collecting interests lean more towards original
art and Action Comics under #100. Even so, he still keeps an eye out for pre-code horror and good girl comics
from the 1940s. Since he bought the store from the original owner in March 1999,
he has supervised the store's expansion. Joe takes care of many of the store's
administrative details.
Tom Trettel is the manager of The Comic Book
Shop. He grew up reading his dad's hand me down comics from the 1960s and still
enjoys kicking back and reading great comic stories, both old and new. Tom
started doing comic conventions as T&T Comics in the early 1990s with his dad
(Joe). He turned it into a full time business by 1995, doing both conventions
and mail order. When Joe bought the store in 1999, Tom lent his expertise to The
Comic Book Shop and spent less time working on T&T Comics. Now, Tom manages all
of the day to day work of the store. Buying collections, ordering new items,
answering e-mails, and keeping the store running smooth are just some of Tom's
daily tasks.
Patrick Titus is The Comic Book Shop's
assistant manager. He handles much of the
actual work that gets done in the store, from taking care of customer needs to
making sure the store looks its best. Action figures are his passion,
especially Transformers and robots.
Dava McClain is The Comic Book
Shop’s full-time customer service representative. She takes care of
customer needs & keeps the store in working order.
Eliot Lewis is one of The Comic
Book Shop’s part-time customer service representatives. He also
takes care of general customer needs.
Sean Shannon is one of The Comic Book
Shop’s part-time customer service representatives. He takes care of
customer needs & keeps the store in working order. As well as being a
fan of robots and gaming, he also enjoys comics.
The Comic Book Shop also has many other consultants and friends who help make it
the great place that it is.
